USU's Gardner Learning and Leadership Building Nears Completion in Cache Valley |
New Facility to Enhance Experiential Learning at Utah State University |
Construction of the Carolyn and Kem Gardner Learning and Leadership Building at Utah State University (USU) is progressing steadily, with substantial completion anticipated by April 2025.
Located in the heart of Cache Valley, this 45,000-square-foot facility is set to become a cornerstone for experiential learning within the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.
The building will provide state-of-the-art spaces for students to engage in remote internships and participate in hands-on learning initiatives.
Construction commenced in November 2023, following the demolition of the Ella V. Reeder, Ethelyn O. Greaves, and Johanna Moen residence halls, which had served the university for nearly 70 years.
This strategic move made way for the new building, a parking structure, and a residence hall, all aimed at enhancing the campus infrastructure.
In mid-November 2024, crews dismantled one of the two 213-foot-high cranes that had been instrumental in the construction process, signaling significant progress toward the building's completion.
The Gardner Learning and Leadership Building is a testament to the generosity of Kem and Carolyn Gardner, prominent business leaders and philanthropists.
Their substantial contribution underscores a commitment to fostering educational excellence and providing students with practical, real-world experiences.
As the project nears completion, the university community eagerly anticipates the opportunities this new facility will offer.
It is poised to become a hub for innovation and leadership development, further solidifying USU's reputation as a leader in experiential education. |
