From Dec. 5, 2025 to Feb. 15, 2026 the Wildlife Education Center at Hardware WMA will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During open hours, visitors can access the Education Center and two outside viewing areas to observe the elk. Horse-drawn sleigh and wagon rides on the WMA are offered in the winter on the days the Education Center is open, and are a unique opportunity to see elk up close and in their natural habitat. The fee to go on a ride is $10 for those 9 years of age or older and $4 for those 4 to 8 years old. Those 3 years of age or younger ride for free. Tickets are only sold at the Hardware Wildlife Education Center, and you must buy them in-person on the day of your ride.
