Trivia Question❓

Who was the first female prime minister of the United Kingdom?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Β
Β

πŸŽ“ β€œWas the hallway always this short? Was the drinking fountain always this low?”

In a move that’ll hit you right in the nostalgic feels, high school seniors took a stroll down memory laneβ€”literallyβ€”by walking the halls of their old elementary schools (and promptly realizing everything is, in fact, tiny).

Desks? Tiny.
Chairs? Tinier.
Emotions? Surprisingly huge.

πŸ“š Read the full heart-melty moment in The Herald Journal. Bonus points if you cry a little and blame it on β€œallergies.”

Well folks, it’s official: the largest mansion in Utahβ€”and possibly the most magicalβ€”is going up for auction right here in Hyrum.

That’s right. Hyrum. Not Beverly Hills. Not Monaco. Hyrum.

We’re talking 40,000 square feet of pure imagination:
🎒 A Cars-themed raceway
🌴 A Swiss Family Robinson dormitory
πŸ”« A full-on Frontierland shooting range
🌺 An Enchanted Tiki Room replica
🌌 And yes… a Star Wars tunnel.

The estate sits on 154 acres, comes with a 16-car garage (because of course it does), and features themed bedrooms so decked out they’ll make your kids permanently disappointed in regular hotels.

πŸ’° Opening bid? A casual $8 million (pennies, really).

πŸ—οΈ Bonus: A barn is still under constructionβ€”because what's a Disney dream mansion without a side barn?

The auction starts June 5, so if you’ve been hoarding Disney pins and startup stock… this might be your moment.

✨ Wishes do come true… especially in Hyrum.

No sign-up. No catch. Just a tasty way to make sure no kid goes hungry while school's out.

With multiple pickup spots and a menu that doesn’t scream β€œmystery meat,” it’s a win-win for busy families and hungry bellies.

If you haven’t heard the splash-tastic news yet, allow us to throw it at you like a water polo ball at game point…

The Cache Valley Water Polo Clubβ€”home to 76 fierce little fish ages 8 to 18β€”is absolutely soaking up success this season!

🚺 The High School Girls Team just took 3rd place in the state, which is kind of a big deal considering the only thing tougher than treading water for 4 quarters is surviving finals week.

And the hardware? Oh, there’s plenty of it:

  • πŸ… Zoey Hunter was named Utah’s Player of the Year (yes, the whole state!)

  • 🧒 Coach Doug Fryer earned Coach of the Year, proving once again that his strategy is tighter than a swim cap on game day.

πŸ‘€ Wait, haven’t we seen this level of excellence before?
Why yes, we have! Back in 2022, Zac Dunker and Coach Eric Richards pulled off a similar flex after the boys team won their first-ever state championship.

What can we say? Excellence swims deep around here.

And the accolades don’t stop there:
Girls Team

  • 🧀 Whitley Davis: 1st Team All State Goalie (aka human wall)

  • πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ Beza Fryer: 1st Team All State

  • πŸ’ͺ Nya Joekel: 2nd Team All State

  • πŸ’₯ Sophie Dayton: Honorable Mention (but still totally legendary)

Boys Team

  • πŸ”₯ Justus Field & Tyler Crook: 1st Team All State and masters of the deep-end showdown
They even made it to the state finals, only to lose by a single goal in a shootout. That’s basically the water polo version of a movie cliffhanger.

Ever wonder what pieces an art collector actually loves most?

George Wanlassβ€”Utah’s own artsy Indiana Jones and major backer of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museumβ€”just revealed his Top 10 favorite artworks, and it’s a tour through 20th-century Western art that’ll have you saying, β€œWait, I saw that in Logan?!”

From sculpture to surrealism, this isn’t just a listβ€”it’s a love letter to the weird, wild, and wonderfully West.

🎨 Peep the picks in the Salt Lake Tribune

(Warning: May cause sudden urge to museum.)

πŸ• Local Business Spotlight:
Hungry Howie’s Logan – Friendship, Faith & Flavored Crust

What do a mission trip, a wheelchair, a couple of VW buses, and a mutual love of pizza have in common? The answer is Hungry Howie’s Pizza in Loganβ€”and the even better story behind its local owners, Andy Livermore and Trevor Lind.

Andy (from Pocatello) and Trevor (from Idaho Falls) first met in 2009 at the Mission Training Center in Provo, Utah, both headed for Arizona and unknowingly toward the best pizza ever.

Spoiler alert: it was Hungry Howie’sβ€”home of the legendary flavored crust. What they didn’t know then? That their journey would include building a lifelong friendship and a full-blown pizza empire right here in Cache Valley.

πŸŽ“ After their missions, Andy faced a life-changing challenge. A serious accident left doctors unsure he’d ever walk again.

But with encouragement from Trevorβ€”who grew up with a mom in a wheelchair and knew firsthand that joy isn’t tied to mobilityβ€”Andy pushed through months of rehab.

In what can only be described as a miracle, he regained feeling and learned to walk again.

Back in Logan, they became roommates at Utah State University, bonded over Jeeps, snow skiing, water skiing, VW cars, andβ€”you guessed itβ€”pizza.

Oh, and fun fact: they also share the same birthday. (We’d like to imagine their parties involve candles in cheesy bread.)

Andy graduated in Accounting, Trevor in Marketing, and together they launched their dream: opening Hungry Howie’s Pizza Logan in 2018.

Since then, they’ve been slinging hot pies, serving up kindness, and delivering joy with every slice. You’ll still find them working the counter, talking to customers, and living proof that community and carbs go hand-in-hand.

πŸ‘ So next time you’re craving a pizza that packs flavor right into the crust, stop by Hungry Howie’s on 1400 North.

Say hi to Andy and Trevor, ask about their Aggie days, and let them whip up something amazing.

Because when life gives you obstacles… these guys built a pizza place. πŸ•πŸ’›

🚨 Summer Survival Hack: The “I’m Bored” Buster Jar

Day 2 of summer break and your kid’s already declared there’s nothing to do?

Classic.

Instead of losing your mind or hiding in the pantry with a sleeve of Oreos, try this:

πŸŽ‰ The Boredom Jar.

Grab a mason jar, a cup, an old shoeboxβ€”whatever’s nearbyβ€”and fill it with slips of paper that each have a simple, fun activity on them.

Stuff like:

  • β€œBuild a living room fort (blankets required, parental approval optional)”

  • β€œHost a 2-person talent show”

  • β€œSidewalk chalk masterpiece contest”

  • β€œDance party to Mom’s favorite 2000s hits (bonus points if they groan)”

  • β€œWater balloon attack... on Dad.”

The rules?

If they say β€œI’m bored,” they must draw from the jar. No trades. No negotiations. Just pure, random childhood magic.

It keeps them busy, keeps you sane, and heyβ€”you might even score 20 uninterrupted minutes to drink a ice cold Coke like it's 2019.
