Trivia Question❓

What is the tallest mountain in North America?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Locked, Loaded, and Laser-Focused: Baylee Blakeley’s Journey from Shotgun to STEM

If you think teenage girls can’t shoot straight and sketch a 3D model with precision—allow us to introduce you to Baylee Blakeley.

Baylee isn’t your average student.

She’s a Top Ladies Shooter who’s been dominating the competition scene across multiple states, collecting 23 championship buckles in just three years (yes, you read that right—twenty-three).

But don’t be fooled—her sights are set on much more than targets.

Behind the scenes of her fierce focus and quick trigger finger is a curious mind drawn to circuits, models, and microscopes.

At BTECH, Baylee dove into all things engineering, testing different fields like a scientist in a candy store until something sparked: a future in biomedical engineering or 3D modeling.

That spark? It lit a fire.

She’s already earning her associate’s degree at USU, prepping for an LDS mission, and inspiring the heck out of everyone in her orbit.

But her journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing. There were moments of doubt. Moments she didn’t feel ready.

But with a strong mom cheering her on and an engineering teacher who believed in her talent, Baylee kept pushing.

Her proudest mic-drop moment?

Earning her 3D modeling certification in under two hours—even when she thought she wasn’t prepared.

Now, she thrives in BTECH’s learn-at-your-own-pace environment, surrounded by instructors who actually care.

And Baylee’s not just moving forward—she’s paving a path and lighting it up for other students who might be quietly dreaming big too.

So here’s to Baylee—platinum performer, champion shooter, future engineer, and the kind of young woman who reminds us that grit, guidance, and a little bit of geometry can go a very long way.

It’s official—Chick-fil-A has opened in Providence!

The chicken cravings of Cache Valley just got a little easier to satisfy.

The popular fast-food chain opened its newest location in the Providence E. Gateway Center (next to Maceys), and judging by the opening-day buzz, folks are more than ready to say “my pleasure” in the drive-thru.

Whether you’re team original sandwich, nuggets, or just here for the waffle fries and lemonade, it’s time to update your lunch plans.

Thinking about grad school but worried about the price tag? USU just made it a little easier to say “yes.”

Utah State University has launched a new scholarship aimed at helping students take the leap into a graduate degree.

Whether you're advancing your career, shifting gears, or simply hungry for more learning—this could be the boost you’ve been waiting for.

It’s all part of USU’s push to make higher education more accessible for driven students ready to level up.

How engaged are Utah women in voting and civic life—and what’s holding them back?

A new report from USU’s Utah Women & Leadership Project takes a deep dive into how women across the state are participating in democracy—from voter turnout to local leadership roles.

Spoiler alert: while there’s progress, there’s also plenty of room to grow.

The research highlights not just what women are doing, but why they do (or don’t) show up—and what communities can do to foster more inclusion and impact.

Imagine waking up every day hoping today is the day someone chooses you—and going to bed alone every night when it’s not.

That’s been Boomer’s life for the past seven months.

While we’ve celebrated holidays, watched seasons change, and made new memories, Boomer has waited. And waited. And waited.

He’s 7 years old. Gentle. Quiet. Past the puppy chaos. He doesn’t need much—just a soft place to land, someone to finally say, “You’re mine.”

If you’ve ever lost a pet and felt the silence that follows… if your home has love to give and room to spare… if you believe, like we do, that every dog deserves their day—please go meet Boomer.

You might just be his miracle.
