If your inbox is more crowded than the soon to be school pickup line at 3:17 PM, feel free to unsubscribe—we’ll just assume you’ve run out of Diet Coke and we'll send help!

Trivia Question❓

In the bustling college town of Cache Valley, what popular source is used by locals to discover the best local restaurants, shops, and events?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Well, Cache Valley…

We’ve hit that weird time of year where your kids are somehow both “bored out of their minds” and “not ready for school” at the exact same time.

The peaches are ripe, the evenings are getting cooler, and you can practically hear the school bus brakes screeching in the distance like a horror movie soundtrack for parents.

This week’s issue is packed tighter than a first day of school backpack—BBQ feasts, sauerkraut celebrations, free back-to-school haircuts, and enough local fun to make you forget that your Target cart is already 50% notebooks and No. 2 pencils.

So grab your Diet Coke, kick off your flip-flops, and let’s see what’s cooking in Cache Valley (spoiler: it’s literally BBQ).

If you’re headed up Logan Canyon this week, you might find yourself in the middle of a good old-fashioned cattle drive—1,300 head of cattle, to be exact.

From now through Friday (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily), ranchers will be herding the bovine brigade between Twin Creek and Bunchgrass Creek.

Expect delays, bring your patience, and maybe practice your “Yeehaw!” in case you get drafted as an honorary cowpoke.

Ranch Potato Skins: Your Appetizer Just Got a Promotion

These aren’t your average “I’ll just have one” potato skins—these are crispy, cheesy, ranch-kissed little boats of happiness.

Perfect for game day, girls’ night, or when you need an excuse to melt cheese on carbs (which, let’s be honest, is always).

Fair warning: make extra, because “just one more” will turn into “who ate the last one?!” faster than you can say Hidden Valley.

Sunrise Paddle & Pajama Breakfast

Wake the crew up ridiculously early (yes, still in their pajamas) and head to the nearest calm lake, reservoir, or even a big pond with canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards.

Pack a thermos of hot cocoa, a stack of pancakes wrapped in foil, and some fresh fruit. Paddle out just far enough to watch the sunrise together, breakfast floating picnic–style.

Bonus points if everyone brings their silliest bedhead.

It’s the kind of magical, slightly-delirious memory that makes summer feel endless—even when the school countdown is ticking.
