Trivia Question❓What popular outdoor activity in Cache Valley involves flying through the air on a zipline while taking in breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys? Answer at the bottom of the newsletter |
Hey Cache Valley!
Ready to absolutely fill up your calendar (and maybe your stomach)?
This week’s newsletter is bursting like a soda bottle in a library parking lot (looking at you, Epic Explosion Extravaganza).
We’ve rounded up the coolest camps, the quirkiest local happenings, the sweetest community wins (Ty found his forever home!), and yes — free Slurpees and sidewalk sales you’ll “just swing by” and accidentally leave with a car full of bags.
There’s backyard pasta salad hacks, fairy gardens for your tweens, dance nights, derby crashes, lavender fields, and a Muppet Movie Monday so good Miss Piggy herself would approve.
Basically: this week, your only excuse to stay home is if you’re still too full from your DIY pasta bar. Let’s get out there, Cache Valley — there’s way too much fun waiting! |

Word on the Street |
New Chief, Same Flames—Hopefully Fewer Cats in Trees |
After years of bravely bossing around flames (and probably a few stubborn campfire dads), Cache County’s fire chief is calling it a career and handing over the unlit torch—no accidental grass fires here!
Meet the new big boss, see what’s next for our fire crews, and maybe salute the guy who kept half of us from burning down the valley with our questionable fireworks.

Pardon Our Dust—North Logan’s Getting a Fancy New Brain Hub! |
The North Logan Library is trading in its squeaky chairs, suspicious carpet stains, and that one flickering light for a shiny new community center that’ll make you want to actually return your books on time (maybe).
Picture this: more space for storytime, quiet nooks for pretending to work, and a fresh coat of paint that doesn’t scream 1997 elementary school.
Want a sneak peek at where you’ll be checking out cookbooks you’ll never use? Hard hats not required—just click here: See the behind-the-scenes |
Tiny, Furry, and Critically Cute—Zootah’s Got New Babies! |
Turns out Cache Valley isn’t just for baby goats and surprise backyard kittens—Zootah just welcomed three brand-new babies from endangered species!
Come meet the newest pint-sized residents, learn why they matter, and prepare to say “awww” at least twelve times: 👉 Meet the cuties |
Big Smiles, New Wheels—Cue the Happy Tears! |
Need a little “faith in humanity restored” moment between spam emails?
Common Ground just surprised two local athletes with shiny new adaptive trikes—think freedom, fresh air, and no more watching adventure from the sidelines.
It’s the feel-good news you didn’t know your inbox needed today.
Trust us—this story’s got more heart than a Hallmark movie marathon. |
Remember Ty? Cache Valley, You Did It! |

Do you remember Ty—the sweet pup with the big heart and the longest tail wags?
Well, guess what? Cache Valley, you made it happen!
After more than 108 days in the shelter (from just 3 months old to 7 ½ months!), Ty has finally found his forever home.
Thanks to you—your 364+ shares, kind comments, and visits—Ty’s story reached his people.
And on Saturday, July 5th, there were happy dances, tail wags, and more than a few happy tears when Ty went home for good.
To Ty’s new family: thank you for seeing the amazing, hopeful boy we’ve loved since day one. To everyone who cheered him on—this is your win too.
Happy Gotcha Day, Ty! 💙 May your days be filled with belly rubs, couch naps, and all the unconditional love you’ve waited so patiently for. |

Garden Hack: Keep Your Veggies Happy in July’s Sassiest Heat |
Your tomatoes called—they’re thirsty, dramatic, and deeply unimpressed with your “I’ll water it tomorrow” attitude.
According to the USU Extension pros, July is make or break for your garden dreams: soak those roots deep (sprinkles are for cupcakes, not gardens), harvest veggies early and often so they keep showing up for you, and mulch like your life depends on it—because come August, it just might.
Oh, and those weeds plotting world domination in your flower beds?
Yank them now while they’re still wimpy, so you’re not out there rage-pulling thorny monsters at midnight under your porch light.
Your green thumb (and your salsa supply) will thank you later.
